Indulgence Theatre: A Sonnet for Anne

A new play by Lincoln playwright David Owen Smith, with sonnets by William Shakespeare. During the last few days of Shakespeare’s life, Ben Jonson pays a visit bringing a gift of a book: a reprint of The Sonnets. As Anne begins to read the poems she embarks on the journey that will dramatically change her view of her husband’s achievements. The RSC have offered an opportunity to amateur companies to present Shakespeare or Shakespeare-related plays, and Indulgence Theatre Company have taken up the challenge! Indulgence is honoured to have been selected to perform this play under the banner of the Royal Shakespeare Company’s OpenStages season.
