Wilko Johnson

Tickets: £17.50 in advance (£20 on the day)

Supported by Virgil & the Accelerators Wilko first made a name for himself when he formed Dr. Feelgood in 1971. Known for their high energy live performances, it was the 1976 live album, Stupidity that was the band’s real breakthrough, reaching No.1 in the official UK album chart. By the time Dr. Feelgood released their fourth album, Sneakin’ Suspicion, Johnson had left the group to pursue a solo career, later joining Ian Dury and the Blockheads. One of music’s true characters, Wilko recently featured in Julien Temple’s Oil City Confidential, a full-length feature film documentary about Dr. Feelgood, and has also been seen starring opposite Sean Bean in HBO’s fantasy series Game of Thrones.
