The Writing's On the Wall

We are delighted to announce The Writing’s on the Wall, a new creative fund-raising scheme for the Drill Hall in which you can get a name, a dedication, a quote, or perhaps even a lyric printed on a special vinyl label and fixed to one of our distinctive green tile bricks in the café bar.

One brick costs just £25 and your message will stay up for 2 years. The shorter the message, the bigger the letters and there is a choice of fonts! The idea is a variation on how some other theatres raise money (name plaques on seatbacks etc) but we felt this idea would be more visible, more fun and more Drill Hall!

In the first year any money raised will go towards our two fund-raising priorities for 2010/11: the expansion of our programme of outreach activities for young people and also the refurbishment of the Ruston Room.

The first messages will start appearing from April onwards and we hope very much that the idea will catch on fast…. it’s an ideal alternative gift that will help support the arts and keep the Drill Hall thriving! In addition to appearing on the Wall, anyone who pays for a message will also be invited to our annual ‘Behind the Mask’ social event in the summer.

Thanks for your support!
