Come and de-stress with us in April
April is National Stress Awareness month and here at Lincoln Drill Hall, we’re providing lots of ways to relax and de-stress. The pace of modern life can be so hectic and sometimes we all just need to slow down and enjoy a few moments of calm. We’ve got some wonderful ways to unwind during April, so why not pop down and enjoy a relaxing experience in our stress-free sanctuary.
Hand and Head Massages
Local masseuse Samantha Brown from The Sanctuary Room will be offering free hand and head massages in the cafe bar on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11am-3.30pm each week during April. Samantha can also be found at the Central Wellness centre in the city. More info >>
Recent studies have shown that colouring in is a centering activity that relaxes the portion of our brains responsible for fear response. So we’re providing adult colouring pages and pens on each table in our cafe bar throughout April. Treat yourself to some calming colouring on us!
Studies have shown that taking part in the arts reduces stress considerably. Our regular weekly and monthly sessions are therefore the perfect way to relax and recharge your batteries. Choose from Full Bloom for the over 50s, or perhaps kick back with the kids at Diddy Disco, The Happy Monday Club for pre-schoolers, and Hartbeeps baby massage sessions.
Pop in on Thursday and Saturday lunchtimes and relax to the soothing sounds of free music throughout April. We have several well stocked book shelves too, so you can escape into a story and let your cares drift away!
The wonderful Vamos Theatre company will be here with their new play ‘A Brave Face’ which follows the story of a soldier coping with the effects of Post Traumatic Stress after a tour of Afghanistan. The company will deliver a post show talk which will share all they’ve discovered about the issues and experiences they explored with veterans and serving armed forces personnel.
