Authors Claire Harman and Ambrose Perry come to Lincoln Book Festival 2019 under the banner ‘If Words Could Kill.’ They’ll be talking about their works ‘Murder By The Book’ and ‘The Way of All Flesh’.
CLAIRE HARMAN – In 1840 London was scandalised by the murder of Lord William Russell but behind the murder was a best-selling crime novel which had polarised public opinion and initiated a debate: can a work of fiction do real harm? MURDER BY THE BOOK re-opens the discussion. Claire is an award-winning biographer and author of the best-selling Jane’s Fame: How Jane Austen Conquered the World
AMBROSE PERRY – Author Chris Brookmyre and consultant anaesthetist Dr Marisa Haetzman, pseudonym ‘Ambrose Perry’, have created a gripping historical crime series set in 1847 Edinburgh. Chris is the international best-selling author of over 20 novels. Marisa’s research uncovered the events on which the series is based. THE WAY OF ALL FLESH, is longlisted for the McIlvanney Prize.
