MIRANDA SEYMOUR – A year after she married Lord Byron, Annabella Milbanke fled, taking their baby daughter Ada with her. Byron implored his wife to make sure Ada never became a poet. IN BYRON’S WAKE explores what happened to Annabella and Ada. Miranda has written biographies of Mary Shelley, Robert Graves, Ottoline Morrell and Henry James’ literary circle, as well as novels.
SUZANNE COOPER – Ruskin was the greatest critic of his age: not only of art and architecture but of society and life. TO SEE CLEARLY: WHY RUSKIN MATTERS examines why his writing still has relevance today. Suzanne has worked on major exhibitions to celebrate his 200th anniversary and has written extensively on the Pre-Raphaelites and Victorian women, including a biography of Effie Gray.
