Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen, adapted for the stage by Jessica Swale
The Dashwood sisters are complete opposites. Sensible Elinor is ruled by her head. Passionate Marianne follows her heart. When their father dies, they are forced to leave their grand home and move to live among strangers. Their only hope for a secure future is to find a husband. But, in the rigid society of Regency England, when you have no dowry, finding the right suitor is a tricky business. Fall in love with the wrong man, for example a handsome rake like Willoughby, or a penniless would-be parson like Edward Ferrars, and it could lead to your ruin.
Lincoln-based Common Ground Theatre Company return to the Drill Hall with this new adaptation which promises to delight audiences and Austen fans alike.
