Welcome Town by Natasha Davis, a Future Arts Centres commission, developed in collaboration with ARC Stockton, Lincoln Drill Hall and Live Collision Dublin
Welcome Town invites you to spend ten minutes in conversation with a migrant, create your own floor plan of a place you once occupied, fill up a box with everything you have with you on the day to tell a story about you, and join a number of other activities!
Participatory and playful, Welcome Town is an open installation with a fluid structure – a public interactive performative provocation, a conversation, a learning site – attempting to re-imagine how towns could provide humane care for displaced individuals.
Look at the art, absorb the conversations, inhale and digest both, create art yourself. Take part in the activities on offer as part of this rich selection, perfect for all ages and beliefs, designed to learn, exchange, debate, tell us about crossing borders and cross some interesting borders together on the day with local and visiting artists. Follow how a visual map of all our interactions develops over the two days. Perhaps we can decide together what a true welcome is?
Located in front of the Lincoln Bus Station.
*PLEASE NOTE: This is not a ticketed event. Simply arrive during the event times (above) and take part.
